I've been watching The Cook & The Chef recently. ABC2 has had it on in the early hours of the morning (thank goodness for PVR's and being able to record TV shows). Gee Whiz Maggie & Simon come up with some amazing recipes!I have to admit that I learn new things all the time. For instance Maggie was cooking cockles the other day. I just remember them as bait for fishing when I was a kid. I never really thought about eating them. In fact it was also interesting to know that cockles are also called clams. Never knew that. It got me thinking that there are lots of foods out there that we may think are unavailable here in Australia. In fact they probably are already here we just use different names for them. Perhaps its something to research & post about another time.
